- 44º Medical Symposium Open to Community
Under the slogan: "And if is it Lupus? More you know, better you face", ALUA summons to attend next Thursday, May 10th,2012 from 7:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m. a Public Art Exhibition about Lupus with distribution of instructional leaflets of our illness and organisation and bracelets and pins about WLD. The show will consist of a giant sculpture shaped like a butterfly (symbol of the disease in reference to one of its characteristic symptoms) and the exposure of ten murals depicting ten of the most frequent symptoms.
During the day a Power Point on the Proclamation of the WLD will be screened continuously, with images of the city of Buenos Aires and music of Astor Piazzola. From 5:00 p.m. ALUA will be hosting the 44º Medical Symposium about different aspects to Lupus especially to patients, families, medical and social workers, in a canvas tent installed in the same place,San Martin Square in Buenos Aires.
San Martin Square is the largest green pace in the neighborhood of Retiro in Buenos Aires. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1942. In this place we will meet to commemorate the WLD on 10 May.
- The World Lupus Day - May 10 has been declared of Interest by the Legislative Chamber of Deputies of Argentina
- We`ll send an informative e-card to friends and family with the WLD Flyer and Lupus information to people who do not have Lupus to help spread the message through the world.
- We are promoting World Lupus Day through our Facebook, too.
- We are also working hard with the media (T.V. porgrammes, radio, and newsletters.)

There will be different points of diffusion and information about Lupus and our campaing to include Lupus to a special National Health Program (Plan AUGE-GES).
These points will be in these following cities around Chile:
Arica
Viña del Mar
Valparaíso (in a stand with Red Cross)
La Florida
Maipú
San Bernardo
Rancuagua
Temuco (on May, 7th)
Also, in Santiago we'll have a special stand in the downtown to make Lupus Awareness and promote our campaing to this Plan AUGE-GES.
In that point we'll be with Senator Soledad Alvear, who is a great politician figure: she is a former Minister of Wome´s Affairs, former Minister of Justice, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, and former nominate presidential candidate.
And finally, in Valparaíso we'll be in the National Congress with a stand to make Lupus Awareness and promote Plan Auge-Ges with politicians.
We promoted a National Event to put our poster of World Lupus Day, and we had a positive answer from the people.Our people put these posters all around our country, from the North (Arica, the northest city) to the South (Punta Arenas, our southernmost city) in Hospitals, Universities, Colleges, stores, schools, drugstores, etc
